P!Òpera, the best-known operas in a new format

P!Òpera (Picnic+Òpera), the most outstanding novelty of the Poble Espanyol's summer programme, includes three shows based on a selection of the great classics of the lyric genre in a fresh and intimate format: under the stars, with a surprising setting, contemporary dance performances before the shows and the chance to dine picnic-style.

Opera’s Greatest Hits, An evening with Rossini, Bizet and Verdi and An evening with Mozart, Donizetti and Puccini are the titles of the shows that P!Òpera includes in its first edition and that the Petit Compagnia Lirica has created especially for the occasion. La donna è mobile, Belle nuit, Nessun dorma, O mio babbino caro, the quartet from La Bohème and Una furtiva lágrima are some of the pieces that will be performed live through the voices of four professional singers and the accompaniment of grand piano by the pianist and conductor Elke Sanjosé.

The cycle, which forms part of the Noches en Vivo at the Poble Espanyol, will take place on Fridays in summer from 29 July to 2 September.

In addition to the show itself, there will be the option of enjoying, before or after the shows, a dinner served in a picnic basket, which will include dishes made with local produce. All this will take place in the new Village space, an area that Poble Espanyol has opened for the Nights Live with the aim of offering an experience that goes beyond the music. In the Village space, adjacent to the concert and show area, attendees will find a carefully designed ambience, contemporary dance performances by Trassart Collective before the lyrical shows, diverse gastronomic options and ambient music both before and after the shows.
