EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Ceramic paint

Poble Espanyol's potters will teach you their craft, give a demonstration with the potter's wheel and then each participant will choose a piece (already fired) to paint and decorate using the dry brush technique, which involves combining layers and colours to create different textures. You'll be able to take the pieces home with you on the same day. Maximum of 25 participants per workshop.

Guided tour

Accompanied by a guide, you'll learn how Poble Espanyol was built and, at the same time, you'll get a chance to discover the cultural diversity of Spain from all points of view. The tour includes access to the Fran Daurel Museum of contemporary art, where you can marvel at works by Picasso, Dalí and Miró, among others.

You can check out the entire enclosure on your own: streets and squares with more than 100 recreations of popular Spanish architecture, artisan workshops, the Fran Daurel Museum of contemporary art, the exhibition on how Poble Espanyol was built, audiovisual installations, giant slides... Fun tour

The participants wait for their guide, but when he/ doesn't show up, a maintenance worker (actually an actor) offers to show the group around. Will he/she be a good guide? Take a walk with this peculiar character who'll recount anecdotes and legends about Poble Espanyol. Get ready to laugh, sing and join in... Fun is guaranteed!

Chocolate with churros

Churros are made with flour that is fried and rolled in sugar and then dipped in melted chocolate; a mouthwatering blend of flavours that dates back to the early 19th century! How about some churros before or after visiting or taking part in an activity in Poble Espanyol? You'll love them.

Spanish gastronomy workshop

Spain is a country known the world over for its gastronomy. So, how about rustling up a traditional Spanish meal in the Cookiteca's fully-equipped and safe kitchen and then getting stuck into what you've made. You can also elaborate a tasting menu of tapas and accompany your meal with something in one of our restaurants.

Paella showcooking

Paella is a traditional Mediterranean rice dish. There is seafood paella, vegetarian paella, seafood and mountain paella, Valencian paella... Take part in a paella workshop following the chef's instructions and then get tucked in, or you can make the paella and then eat it in one of our restaurants, which will also serve you a drink and dessert and, in some cases, a salad.

Bespoke leather bracelet

We have a workshop where you can decorate a leather bracelet using the leather engraving technique, which is done with the help of a mallet and a wooden base and different dyes. Each participant will add their own personal touch to their bracelet.... the possibilities are endless! You'll round off the workshop with the sewing technique to finish decorating the bracelet.

    COVID-19 PROTOCOL

    Preventive measures

    • Staggered entry in the event that several groups and/or schools coincide on the same day and always respecting the safety distance.
    • Masks must be worn by monitors and entertainers at Poble Espanyol. Teachers accompanying pupils must wear masks as well as pupils who are required to wear them by law.
    • Students and teachers will be given hydroalcoholic gel upon arrival.
    • If need be, hands shall be washed before and after certain activities.
    • We have a large outdoor space as well as spacious, well-ventilated, covered spaces where we can accommodate groups without the need for them to be reused by other groups on the same day.
    • Different schools will be assigned different spaces for lunch and play in the event that more than one school visits on the same day.
    • We frequently clean and disinfect spaces.

    Once the activity is over, how about rounding off your visit with complementary activities to make the most of everything that Poble Espanyol has to offer.

    Lunch in the picnic area, take in the breathtaking views from the Monastery viewpoint, visit the Fran Daurel Museum of contemporary art, marvel at the work of artisans and also audiovisual installations and an area with giant outdoor slides.
