This is a leather craft workshop where bags are made to last a lifetime. Ana makes the bags by hand and recovers the traditional work of saddlery for modern uses.

Casa Otero
Encarna is Poble Espanyol's oldest master artisan. Casa Otero is an embroidery workshop and she herself designs and produces the Filtré, a drawing with thread on the fabric, and the Vainica, borders and folds of the fabric. The workshop produces and sells hand embroidery.

Miquel and Anna have been painting glass since they were 16 years old and set up their workshop in Poble Espanyol in 2000. Before this, they ran a shop in Barcelona where they sold glass pieces to end customers and at fairs.
Nowadays, they decorate glass objects in different formats (serial pieces and unique pieces).

The FlorKanela workshop is a creative space that preserves traditional weaving methods. They design and hand-knit unique garments such as shawls and scarves. It combines artisanal techniques with experimentation with different materials to create more innovative and contemporary garments.

Les Perles
Marta is the third generation to run the family business; the oldest store in the beautiful Poble Español enclosure. Although she did not follow in her grandfather's footsteps as a jeweller, the jeweller's shop became a jewellery and handicraft shop. It has also been the Official Agency for the precious pearls of the MAJORICA brand for more than 60 years.

Lourdes Perelló

Oksana is a dressmaker who makes bespoke flamenco and traditional dresses. From 2013 to 2017, she worked in haute couture in Barcelona designing wedding dresses. She opened her shop in Poble Espanyol 8 years ago.

Basket weaving

Led by the artisan Pepi Sánchez, you'll become artisans for a day, more specifically basket makers.
You'll learn the basics of basket weaving and apply the technique to create a caxixi (musical instrument) or a pendant.
You'll work with vegetable fibres and, following Pepi's steps and instructions, you'll get the chance to create your own product that you can take home with you on the same day.

Decorative painting

Design and create a painting with gutta. Led by the artisan artist and textile expert David Valeri, you'll become artisans for a day.
You'll choose a nice drawing which you'll then use to create the decorative painting.

Engraving

Accompanied by craftswoman Maria Pujol you will become a craftsman or craftswoman for a day, more specifically bookmakers.
We will learn the basic techniques of working with paper and create a book in the shape of a star.
You will work with ancient paper techniques and, following Maria’s steps and instructions, we will personalise our own book.

Leather

Led by the artisan Julián Sañudo, you'll become experts in leather, in particular in cowhide leather.
You'll learn the basics of working with leather and how to give this historic material a personal touch.
You'll get the chance to engrave, sew, dye, among other techniques following the steps of the artisan Julián Sañudo, as well as doing an embossed painting, a belt or a leather bag.

Stained glass

Design and create a piece of stained glass. Led by the artisan Júlia Rodríguez, you'll become artisans for a day, specifically stained glass artists.
You'll learn the basics of designing and creating a piece of stained glass, which you'll take home with you on the same day.
You'll work with artistic glass with different colours, textures and transparencies and, following Júlia's steps and instructions, you'll create a mobile.

Stamping

Accompanied by craftswoman Lourdes Perelló you will become a craftsman or craftswoman for a day, more specifically textile experts.
You will learn the faux batik technique to decorate a silk scarf that you can take with you on the same day.
You will work with Asian materials and, following Lourdes’s steps and instructions, you will personalise a silk scarf.

INTRODUCTORY CRAFT COURSES
Introduction to basket weaving course
Price: 40
Led by the artisan Pepi Sánchez, you'll discover the craft of basket weaving, which dates back hundreds of years in Catalonia. In this workshop, you'll discover and try out the basic techniques to weave a basket using rohtang pith in its natural state and dyed with various colours to create a bespoke and ornate object. You can take the piece home with you on the same day.

Introduction to mosaic course: Trencadís with glass
Price: 68
Led by the artisan Júlia Rodríguez, you'll become an expert in glass trencadís in just three hours! And the best thing about it... you'll have a fantastic time!
You'll also get the chance to try out the tools and techniques used to make a stained glass sculpture using the glass mosaic technique.

Introduction to pottery course
Price: 31,25
Accompanied by the artisan Juan Manuel Becerra, you will learn the necessary technique to use the traditional clay turn.
With the help of the artisans, two pieces will be made: The first, using the pinch technique, we make a bowl. Once dry, we paint it with ceramic engobes. The second piece, using a potter's wheel (potter's wheel), we make a small piece... a vase or similar. Both pieces will be delivered glazed and fired, ready to use, after approximately 21 days.
