Celebrate the 20th Blues Festival with us!
The most awaited date for the lovers of this musical style is back with the best bands.
On 6 July we will be celebrating the 20th edition of this great festival with the best groups and artists from the world of blues at Poble Espanyol.
The Capibola Blues Association was born in Barcelona in 2003 with the intention of bringing this musical style to a wider public with a total vocation of social commitment based on an open conception of access to culture by all types of social groups.

For the first time the spaces of the Marquee and the Poble Picnic become the Village, a large outdoor area specially designed to make your experience at the Poble as pleasant and long-lasting as possible. The origin of the idea of training the “Blues Masters” is totally linked to the project of the Barcelona Blues School-Workshop. In this edition we will have the opportunity to see some of the best musicians of Barcelona coming together to bring us a very special repertoire!
“Tribute to the Blues School”.

The Blues School-Workshop was one of the main engines of the amateur Blues scene in the city for more than 10 years. Some of the most renowned musicians of this genre were part of this project and its classrooms have produced some of the best young bands of recent years.

They are musicians from our scene whose renowned career has seen them collaborate with numerous local and international artists. They come together on this occasion in trio format to offer us a repertoire of great blues classics.

With an album of the same name recorded in 2018 and a repertoire made up entirely of their own songs, this trio aims directly at the content, at the essence that makes this musical style unique.

After 20 years of career, this duet formed by the brothers Santos and Victor Puertas, thanks to their talent, have made a place for themselves in the world of blues at an international level.

A large part of his repertoire is based on original songs from his 6 albums, where he mixes Blues with touches of Funk and Soul, combined with some versions of the masters of the genre. He is one of the most international musicians in our country.

Boogie from the 30’s, Swing from the 40’s and Rhythm & Blues from the 50’s in the repertoire of this Quintet from Barcelona and they have had the luxury of collaborating with the great British saxophonist and singer, Drew Davies, for some years now.

Johnny Big Stone & the Blues Workers is a blues trio at its best. They combine songs from the west coast, jump blues or traditional blues, achieving a very varied repertoire, consecrating this band as authentic blues jugglers.

The mixture of the traditional music of the Balkans, Eastern Europe and the Middle East with the language of the ensemble’s own songs makes this quintet a unique proposal, a universe of sound, a brotherhood.
